Det is Auk!

Rowans Scouting Sint Paulus, Venlo, Netherlands.
After we loaded our gear in Venlo we headed of for Denmark. It
was a long journey but a very pleasant one because of our music and
the views we could enjoy. Denmark is a beautiful country and the
inhabitants are very kind to 'strangers'.
When we arrived at the Næsbycentret we were impressed by the
size. The people that run the place welcomed us very kindly. The
first day we obviously had to put up our tents and get comfortable.
Afterwards we had a little walk around the place and we had to
recover from our journey.
Canoehiking is a wonderful thing to do. We had to go to a
Kanolejning not even a kilometer away from here. There we had to
follow a little river down to a lake. The piece and quiet and the
scenery were picturesque. Obviously hiking means an overnight stay.
We had to look for a riverbank were we could pull our canoes out of
the water.
When we woke up the next morning we had to go all the way back to
the canoeguy, which wasn't too bad in the end. The first day we
travelled for 5 and a half hour or so, while on the way back it
only took us 3 and a half hour.
We also went to Copenhagen for a day. It wasn't as big as we
thought it would be. We split up into little groups and explored
the city. Every group in its own way. We also had to look for a few
souvenirs as three of our group are leaving us this week to up a
group.
The service at Næsbycentret is very good. Hardly anything isn't
approved of. There are loads of possibilities for programmes on
different parts of the scoutcenter. The campstaff comes by everyday
and try to help out wherever they can.
All in all this makes it a very nice place to stay at in
wonderful surroundings. In conclusion to this little piece of
writing we can say that we have very much enjoyed everything we did
in Denmark. We had loads of fun and will remember this camp for
years to come. We might even try and come back in a few years!
All the best to you that still have to come here.
